Oxford's oldest independent girls' school for ages 4-18 years

As Oxford’s oldest girls’ school, we are proud to be right at the heart of Summertown.

Based on three sites, all within 5 minutes’ walk of each other, we teach approximately 900 girls from age 4 to 18 years, many of whom come from Summertown and the surrounding neighbourhoods.

We welcome girls from age 4 upwards. In Year 7, about half of the year group are girls moving through from our own Junior School and half come from other schools. Of those, more than 50% come from local Oxfordshire state schools. We have a Year 9 intake from prep schools around the country and our Year 12 applicants come to us from a huge range of state and independent schools. We offer many bursaries and scholarships to girls entering at Senior and Sixth Form and our A level and GCSE results are consistently high. Have a look at what we offer.

But don’t just take our word for it – come and see for yourself.

Although many of our girls walk, scoot or cycle into school we have been working with our local school neighbours to find a greener solution to the congestion that can build up around schools at pick up and drop off times. Now we offer nine bus routes from around the county and beyond to bring our girls into school easily, safely and efficiently. For more info look at our Oxford Schools’ Bus Partnership website.

Oxford High School is a member of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST).
