POMPETTE is a stylish charcuterie wine bar and restaurant designed by husband and wife duo Pascal and Laura Wiedemann. The bar area is open from 10am serving coffee and freshly baked madeleines and, from 12pm, charcuterie, cheeses and small plates throughout the day.
The restaurant design is a modern take on the classic French bistro, exuding warmth and elegance with artwork filling the walls, and it is open between 12-3pm and 6-10pm Tuesday to Saturday and then open for lunch only on Sunday 12-5pm.
The restaurant menu at Pompette changes daily. Pascal’s ethos of using quality produce to its full extent, maximising flavour and minimising waste, resonates across the menu. Whilst being classically trained in French cookery, and from French roots, his style of cooking at Pompette takes inspiration from across Europe and is one of simplicity, comfort and care.
There is also a good value set lunch menu with two or three courses, at £16.50 for two and £20 for three.
The mainly European wine list is excellent and varied, with some natural and biodynamic wines as well as classic varieties; a large selection of which are served by the glass and carafe. There are also three lines of craft beer and a selection of local beers.
The private dining room upstairs can be booked for up to maximum of 14 guests, a perfect space for private parties, dinners and business meetings, and diners also have the option of eating alfresco on Pompette’s terrace when the weather allows.
